I like this post and your input. Certainly it makes sense it's as simple as that. Yet like many things at the highest levels of professional sport, everyone, and I mean everyone, likes a competitive edge. Even if that edge is merely psychological and only for the person him/herself.

So while it may be as simple as "he likes the color red" (I know it isn't this simple I'm just engaging your conversation), it still doesn't minimize the importance of how the things we like directly affect our state. And our state DIRECTLY (excuse the shout, just hi-lighting my point) determines the actions we take, hence the results we experience.
